Chris Brown has deleted his Twitter account after an online meltdown which saw him trading insults with US comedian Jenny Johnson. The US rapper, who has upwards of 11 million Twitter followers, launched a stinging attack on Johnson when she replied to a Tweet he posted in which he commented on how he looks old for his age.

"I look old as f*ck! I'm only 23", said Brown, to which Johnson replied, "I know! Being a worthless piece of shit can really age a person."

Never being one to stray too far from controversy, this was all Brown need to incite full-on social media war and he launched into a series of grammatically incorrect and poorly conceived insult towards Johnson.

It's interesting that Brown didn't threaten to shit in Johnson's ear but, then again, presumably she's already heard Brown's June 2012 album Fortune.

Rihanna, who herself has come in for criticism for allowing Brown back into her life after he so viciously beat her, was sternly in Brown's corner during the exchange. The Barbadian singer Tweeted a picture of a shirtless Brown in her bed last week, drawing significant ire from an internet population who are generally disgusted with her boyfriend and re-Tweeted comments from Brown's fans who defended him from Johnson's accusations.

Johnston summed up her thoughts on the matter with one final Tweet: "I have zero respect for a person who seems unapologetic for the terrible crime he committed and shows no signs of changing."

The positive side of this fiasco is that Brown has, temporarily at least, deleted his Twitter account so hopefully we'll be spared more public proclamations from Chris Brown and his army of idiots.
