Cher has announced that she is currently recording a series of '60s cover versions, which she will release as her first studio album in eight years.

The gay icon and grandmother of pop told the New York Post how she felt about her favourite era of music: "It was such a magical time for music - groups like The Beatles, The Hollies, The Zombies, The Kinks, The Stones and singers like Dylan and Otis Redding."

Hmmm, sounds like someone's finally feeling her age and wants to immerse herself in the comfort music of her heyday. Well, it's about time, really, and she was fabulous back then. Let's just hope she does those artists justice.
