X-Factor starlet Cher Lloyd endured a show to forget at the V Festival last night. According to a report in The Guardian, the 19 year old singer left the stage in floods of tears after being bombarded with bottles of urine from the crowd.

Lloyd's performance, at Chelmsford in Essex, was ended prematurely after unruly behavior from the crowd. Two songs into her set Lloyd was struck by a bottle thrown from the crowd and immediately walked off stage. Appearing moments later Lloyd told the crowd: "It's hard enough being up here, but it's not nice having bottles of piss chucked at you."

It seems that only served to embolden the crowd and further missiles were aimed at Lloyd.

The singer took to Twitter to comment on the incident, saying: "Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it. Tomorrow is another day."

This incident brings back memories of Daphne & Celeste's ill-fated performance (sandwiched between sets by Limp Bizkit and Slipknot) at the Reading Festival in 2000. In fact, I was there myself and was struck in the back of the head by one of the missiles you'll see in the below video.

Down with this sort of thing.
