Washington DC native Cal Folger Day has, temporarily at least, traded the bars and clubs of Brooklyn for Dublin, havingh made the jaunt to these shores for a series of intimate performances. Catweazle UK had this to say about Day's brand of country-infused melodies "[she is] the real thing. Straight down the line from Sister Rosetta Tharpe, June Carter, and Memphis Minnie...breaking our hearts and making them sing. No mean feat."

The opportunity to witness music of this sort in Dublin doesn't come around to often. Not to be missed.

Catch Cal at the following dates and places.

Monday June 6th, upstairs at Whelan's, as part of the the Song Cycle series
Wednesday June 15th, Sweeney's on Dame Street, with Music Medium Live; and also, at The Globe as part of the Song Room
