The forthcoming World Cup in Qatar has not been without its controversies for several reasons, but that has not stopped some of the biggest pop groups on the planet from reportedly lining up to play its opening ceremony.

Recent reports suggest that South Korean K-Pop superstars BTS will play the ceremony on Sunday, November 20th.

They're rumoured to be joined by Shakira - who has form when it comes to the World Cup, considering she provided the official song 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' in 2010.

Black Eyed Peas are also rumoured to play the event. The Los Angeles pop group are scheduled for their own headline gig in Doha on November 20th, but there is speculation that they will play the opening ceremony earlier the same day.

Other media outlets have suggested that Dua Lipa is also pencilled in to perform, but she - nor anyone else - have been officially confirmed as yet.
