Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to clap back at the paparazzi who have hounded her for years.

The singer has been the subject of a lot of media attention since the release of documentary 'Framing Britney Spears'.

She recently spoke out at a hearing regarding her conservatorship, which included shocking revelations about her career and personal life.

Britney is now holidaying in Maui, an island off Hawaii.

She called out the paparazzi for hounding and "embarrassing" her.

She wrote on Instagram: "So being here in Maui is pretty crazy now … the paps know where I am and it’s really not fun !!!! It’s pretty hard going anywhere cause these silly faces keep popping up to take my picture ??"

She continued: "… but not only do they take my picture … they distort my body and mess with the image and it’s embarrassing ??? !!!!! I know my body is not perfect but I definitely do NOT look like how they portray me. It’s rude and it’s mean so paps kindly FUCK YOU AND FUCK OFF ??? !!!!"

Britney posted a video in which she is walking along the beach wearing a mask.

It also included a clip from a Pride parade followed by the message: "THIS IS WHAT FANS & PAPS SHOULD BE DOING INSTEAD!!!"

Across the screen at the start of the video read the words: "DOS AND DONTS If you are a pap, fan or ANYONE in my space

"DON'T TALK TO ME WHILE I'M TEXTING. IT'S RUDE."

Britney's post is set to the song "F*** You" by Lily Allen.
