If you've read Britney Spears' memoir 'The Woman in Me', you'll be aware that the pop star pulled no punches when it came to certain people in her life that she felt had wronged her.

One of them was her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, who didn't come out of the whole affair looking too well, after Spears revealed that he has pressured her to get an abortion and then later ended their three-year relationship by text message.

However, it seems that the 'Toxic' singer has softened her stance on her former flame, as she took to Instagram earlier today to praise Timberlake's musical comeback.

The 'Cry Me a River' star is reviving his musical career and made an appearance on SNL over the weekend, which Spears was clearly glued to.

"I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry...," she wrote. "I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song “Selfish” 🌹 It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ???"

She added: "Ps “Sanctified” is wow 🤩 too"

It seems that Spears' post may have been motivated by the fact that some of her fanbase were attempting to 'block' Timberlake's comeback single 'Selfish' from charting highly in an orchestrated campaign.

Spears herself, meanwhile, has said she'll "never return to the music industry" after recently denying reports that she is working on a new album.
