It's been a bad week for the British music fraternity - first Amy Winehouse collapsed and sprained her ankle, and now former Libertine/current Dirty Pretty Thing Carl Barat, and Long Blondes guitarist Dorian Cox have also been hospitalised.
Barat was rushed to hospital on Tuesday with severe stomach pains, and has since been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. He will be kept in until the weekend, and may require surgery.
The Long Blondes were also forced to cancel dates when guitarist Dorian Cox was taken to a Sheffield hospital after falling ill last week, and is said to be in a 'serious' condition at the moment.
The band issued a statement saying: "Dorian is improving slowly and we will keep you updated on his condition. If you would like to leave a message on MySpace, Facebook, or through the website, we would be glad to pass them on to him when we visit."
