Soul legend Bobby Womack has been forced to pull out of the triple headliner gig in Dublin's Marlay Park due to an illness. Womack had been set to play alongside Van Morrison and Tom Jones at the August 25th show.

Womack released a statement which said: "I send my deepest apologies to my loyal fans around the world, and would like to thank them for their unwavering love, support and well wishes during my stay here at the hospital".

Womack was treated earlier this year for colon cancer and underwent successful surgery in May.

Concert promoters MCD have confirmed that Don Baker and Sinead O'Conor will play in place of Womack at the show and a €10 discount will be made available to customers who purchase tickets between now and the date of the event, while a €10 voucher will also be available to those who bought tickets prior to Womack's cancellation.

The new price for tickets is €49.50, including booking fee.
