If you had 'Bob Dylan outs himself as a fan of Corrie' on your 2022 bingo card, it's your lucky day.

The music legend doesn't do many interviews, but he certainly gives good quotes when he does emerge from his cocoon.

His latest was with The Wall Street Journal to promote his new book 'The Philosophy of Modern Song', and it was a wide-ranging interview that covered topics as diverse as TV shows he likes to watch, how he keeps fit and music he's been enjoying lately.

On the former, he said that he had been binging the likes of "Coronation StreetFather Brown, and some early Twilight Zones. I know they’re old-fashioned, but they make me feel at home," he said. "I’m no fan of packaged programs or news shows. I never watch anything foul-smelling or evil. Nothing disgusting, nothing dog ass."

The 81-year-old also said that he was a fan of 'the Oasis brothers', aka Noel and Liam Gallagher, as well as artists like Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys), Brighton band Royal Blood, and nu-rave act Klaxons (who split up in 2015, FYI).

"Performers and songwriters recommend things to me," he said. "Others I just wake up and they’re there. Some I’ve seen live. The Oasis Brothers, I like them both, Julian Casablanca, the Klaxons, Grace Potter. I’ve seen Metallica twice. I’ve made special efforts to see Jack White and Alex Turner. Zac Deputy, I’ve discovered him lately. He’s a one man show like Ed Sheeran, but he sits down when he plays. I’m a fan of Royal Blood, Celeste, Rag and Bone Man, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, anybody with a feeling for words and language, anybody whose vision parallels mine."

Dylan also mentioned that he keeps fit by boxing, and shared his wisdom on social media sites, which can “bring happiness to a lot of people. Some people even discover love there. It’s fantastic if you’re a sociable person; the communication lines are wide open. You can refashion anything, blot out memories and change history. But they can divide and separate us, as well."
