Blur frontman Damon Albarn has given the strongest indication yet that there may be some new Blur material forthcoming.

Blur played a show yesterday evening at Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Expo, after which the band were set to travel to Japan for more dates but these were eventually cancelled leaving Albarn and co. with a few spare days in Hong Kong.

Speaking to the crowd at the show, Albarn said: "So we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record."

Is Albarn actually serious? A new Blur record has been mooted since the band penned two original tracks - 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan' - for shows at Hyde Park last year. Albarn has frequently hinted that more could be on the way. Producer William Orbit even told NME last year that the band were working on new material with him.

Frankly, we'll believe this one when we see it.
