Last week we reported how Blur bassist Alex James felt there was still some fire in the band’s collective bellies to make another album. Now it appears Damon Albarn is also on board but he doesn’t want to make a Blur album per se, rather he hopes they do some soundtrack work.
Albarn is quoted as saying that the band’s gig with New Order and The Specials in Hyde Park for the Olympics closing festivities will definitely be “our last gig in this country this year and probably for a long time”. However, he also added, "That doesn't mean it's the end of Blur. If someone wanted us to do an album for a film I'd definitely be interested in something like that. So that's the offer."
Combining James’ and Albarn’s quotes this all looks quite promising.
