However, it seems that the reason for the gig's cancellation was a valid one as drummer Travis Barker jetted back to the US to support his wife Kourtney Kardashian.

Kardashian, who is pregnant with the couple's first child, underwent urgent fetal surgery which she says "saved our baby's life".

She posted an Instagram message thanking the doctors who operated on her and her baby, as well as Barker - who "rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards".

"As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery," she wrote. "I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.

"Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing."

The Blink-182 gigs affected by Barker's rush back to the US included Dublin, Belfast and Glasgow, with the statement promising that they will be rescheduled in time.

“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States," their social media statement read. "More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."
