Biffy Clyro are to release their sixth album this year. The band revealed the upcoming double album is to be called 'Opposites' and will be released this year.

When speaking about the forthcoming album, frontman Simon Neil referred to the album as 'wierd' saying 'We're still keeping things musical, still being as weird as we've always been'.

The band did reveal that despite this being their sixth album it didn't get any easier when unveiling it 'it's a strange situation when you're revealing what you've been working on for the past couple of years it doesn't get any easier, but it's still exciting...we're definitely a bit nervous but we're very excited'

The name 'Opposites' was derived from the opposing lyrics on each album where one consists of positive lyrics and the other album has a more negative feel.

The band debuted their new track from the album 'Stingin' Belle' on Zane Lowe's radio programme yesterday evening. Speaking about the track Neil said 'It was one of the first songs that really clicked when we were recording it...it represents the record...It shows how over the top the record is.' and added that 'it might be our last really over the top record'
