The nominations for the 2009 Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards were announced last night. It seems 2009 is the year of rap, with Kanye West, Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz all scooping nominations, while Beyonce is up for Best International Act having recently been named 'Woman of The Year' by Billboard.

Beyonce is up against Mariah Carey, Lady GaGa, Keri Hilson and more for the prestigious award, while X-Factory winner Alexandra Burke is up against our own Laura Izibor in the category of Best UK Newcomer.
