If you happened to catch the Eurosong contest on Friday night's 'Late Late Show', you'll be familiar with each of the five songs that were proposed to represent Ireland in this year's Eurovision.

And although Erica Cody was one of the favourites on the night, Bambie Thug ultimately was crowned victorious with their song 'Doomsday Blue' and will represent Ireland in Malmo in May.

The non-binary artist from Cork, whose real name is Bambi Ray Robinson, proved a hit with viewers and the in-studio jury alike, and many have spoken positively about sending a different kind of song and stage production to the glitzy song contest.

Two-time Irish winner Johnny Logan has even said that the song could not only qualify for the final on May 11th but could win the whole thing, telling the Sunday World: "It’s probably the best and most original entry that Ireland has had for as long as I can remember. I think it’s a very good choice and it will definitely get attention. What I saw last night is that it was eye-catching and different."

Others were not so enamoured with the song, referring to it as 'satanic'.
