'Crying Lightning', the new single from the Arctic Monkeys is to be released on limited edition 7" vinyl through selected Oxfam Ireland shops on August 14th.

The first single to be taken from the Sheffield rockers forthcoming third album 'Humbug' the single shows a development for the band, sounding more like frontman Alex Turner's sideproject The Last Shadow Puppets that previous Monkeys material.

Going on sale in Oxfam charity shops in Cork, Ennis, Galway, Oxfambooks on Parliament Street, Rathmines and South King Street in Dublin, the single will include a cover of Nick Cave's 'Red Right Hand' as a B-Side, and will cost €3.99. Each vinyl copy will come with a unique code, allowing purchasers to download the album online for free.

The proceeds from the single's sale will help save lives in east, central and south Africa. The band have also encouraged fans to donate unwanted albums to the charity, and bring 'something of value to donate to the store when they come down to buy the new Arctic Monkeys single.'
