The next Arcade Fire album is going to be 'fantastic' according to LCD Soundsystems James Murphy, who is currently helping to produce the unnamed album.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Murphy said 'The album is going great. I'm too in the middle of it to know which way it will go in the end. But it's going to be a fantastic record.'

It was confirmed last year that LCD Soundsystems frontman was going to be going into the studio with the band, their manager Scott Rodger said at the time 'They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator. They write too many songs - that's a good problem to have. There's around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums'-worth for sure.'

Since going into studio with them Murphy confirmed exactly what he had been working with them on 'They are so good they could produce themselves, so my role in the band depends on the song,' he explained. 'Sometimes I'm going around making suggestions and playing instruments, other times I'm just helping the arrangements. We feel like part of each other's bands because we toured a lot together over the years'.

The eagerly awaited album will follow the bands hugely successful 2011 album The Suburbs, and with James Murphy on board we have no doubt this new album will be nothing short of brilliant. Recently Arcade Fire front man Win Butler joined The Rolling Stones on their '50 and Counting' tour to assist with their 1965 song 'The Last Time'. You can check it out for yourself below.
