Arcade Fire are currently writing the score to the new film by Richard Kelly (writer/director of Donnie Darko).
'The Box' is a horror story based on a short story written by 'I Am Legend' writer Richard Matheson, and stars Cameron Diaz and James Marsden as a couple who receive a box with a mysterious power.
Kelly had said earlier this year that he had begun ""work with a very famous band who is honouring us with being the first filmmakers they've ever scored a film with", but declined to name the band.
However, according to Pitchfork, the website of producer Markus Dravs claims that he is working with the Montreal band on the project. Arcade Fire finished touring 'Neon Bible' earlier this year and had planned to take a break for the rest of 2008.
