Arcade Fire have revealed via their Twitter account that they'll be one of next year's Glastonbury headliners - the first such band to be announced.

The Montrealers will play four European dates next June; Rock In Roma and Villafranca Di Verona on the 23rd and 24th June, before their Glastonbury slot on the 27th and - the big one for us - a date with the Pixies in Dublin's Marlay Park on 29th June.

Arcade Fire also have two dates scheduled for London's Earls Court on 6th and 7th of June.

Speaking to Zane Lowe, frontman Win Butler made a promise about the weather. "The Friday is going to be a gorgeous, Californian sunshine day - if it's not, we'll refund your ticket."

Any chance that promise will extend a couple of days to the Marlay Park show too, Win?
