Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls was involved in a road traffic accident in Belfast on Sunday, but still managed to play her gig in the city on the same night - despite a broken foot.
Palmer was in Ireland to promote her solo debut album 'Who Killed Amanda Palmer', but was struck by a car in Belfast by looking the wrong way for oncoming traffic.
"I had an accident today," said Palmer from the stage that night. "I did what most stupid Americans do and walked on the wrong side of the road and ended up getting run over. I have to say I’m very grateful for the free health care that you have in Northern Ireland and that this is the first show I’ve played where I’m completely on drugs."
