After much speculation and contradictory reports about the future of Aerosmith, it now seems as if the veteran rock band are in fact looking for a new singer to replace longtime frontman Steven Tyler.

Following Tyler's recent admission into a rehab facility to tackle an addiction to painkillers, guitarist Joe Perry told news agency QMI that the band hope to "go back out on the road" once they find a suitable replacement. He said the band would soon "start having some auditions, making some phone calls. Hopefully, we'll have found a new singer by the summer".

Perry also explained that the band were hopeful that Tyler would return, but that they wanted to continue playing while he makes his recovery.
"He has to have leg surgery and foot surgery and it's basically going to take him out of the picture for about a year, year and a half … So, in the meantime, the rest of the band wants to play. And I want to play with the other guys in Aerosmith. So the four of us are just making our plans. We're gonna find somebody to get in there and fill that spot."

Ok, even if this is true this time, it's still a stupid idea. Who the hell wants to see Aerosmith without Tyler?
