Adele has received a nice pick-me-up this morning with the news that she has been nominated for six Grammy Awards. The singer, who is currently unable to speak after undergoing surgery to her throat, is in the running for awards for song and record of the year for 'Rolling In The Deep' and 21.

Kanye West leads the way with seven nominations, while Bruno Mars and Foo Fighters have six apiece. Brit-folk act Mumford and Sons are also nominated for best record and best song for 'The Cave' and Amy Winehouse was given a posthumous nod for the duet with Tony Bennett for 'Body and Soul'.

The nominations were announced during a live televised concert in Los Angeles, which featured performances by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. The winners will be announced on February 12th.
