The fan speculation was right all along - ABBA is finally releasing new music.
The long, long wait is finally over - we have brand new ABBA music to listen to. 40 years after their last studio album, 'The Visitors', their new album entitled 'Voyage' will be released this November via Universal Music Group.
Two new singles have been announced today, which will feature in the exciting hologram concert which will kick off in London later next year.
Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad have announced the two leading singles from the album, 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don’t Shut Me Down'. The two new singles are available to download and stream now.
'ABBA Voyage' will be their residency concert, which will open on May 27, 2022, at the ABBA Arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The group's new single was rumoured to be hitting our ears tomorrow, September 3, so the fan speculation wasn't too far off. In fact, it's even better arriving a day earlier than expected and also with not just one, but two singles.
The band said: "Thank you for waiting - it’s time for a new journey to begin. We simply call it 'Voyage' and we’re truly sailing in uncharted waters. With the help of our younger selves, we travel into the future. It’s not easy to explain but then it hasn’t been done before."
ABBA launched a global live stream on August 31, which made fans go into a frenzy of anticipation and wonder at what the big announcement would be. The stream finally launched earlier this evening just before 6 pm and featured fans from all over the world before the big reveal, live from Stockholm in Sweden.
There has been speculation for many years that the Swedish quartet would be returning to the studio to record new material, and so the wait is finally over.
Tickets for 'ABBA Voyage' are available from 10 am on Sunday, September 5 for fans who have pre-ordered the album from the official ABBA store, and from 10 am, Monday 6 September for those who have pre-registered. General sale commences at 10 am Tuesday, September 7.
