Are you bored with your current playlists? Looking for something new to check out this month? We’re here to help.

Below, you’ll find five of the biggest albums set for release in October.

RICK ASTLEY - ‘Are We There Yet?’ [October 6th]

It’s amazing what a stint at Glastonbury can do to revitalise a career. Memories of rickrolls are in the distant past as Rick Astley gets his second wind. His first album in five years was, like its predecessors, written, recorded, played and produced by Astley himself at his home studio in London. It is, apparently, “the sound of Rick reflecting and building upon the experiences he's gone through since the release of 2018's 'Beautiful Life'.”

CMAT - ‘Crazymad, for Me’ [October 13th]

One of the biggest Irish musical success stories of the last few years aims to build on the success of her 2022 Choice Music Prize-winning debut ‘If My Wife New I’d Be Dead’, with guest appearances from John Grant, a song that references footballer Vincent Kompany and Ciara Mary Alice Thompson’s trademark blend of wit, melody and that knockout voice.

THE STREETS - ‘The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light’ [October 13th]

It’s been 11 years since the last Streets album proper, but Mike Skinner is back with a bang. His sixth studio album goes hand in hand with a film of the same name, that was written and directed by the Brummie musician (and also features him in the lead role.) Considering he has been a bit of a people’s poet since the release of Original Pirate Material in 2002, this ought to be worth a listen.

31 years after first forming, Blink-182 return with their ninth album - and their first since the return of Tom DeLonge, who left the band in 2015. A lot has changed in recent years - not least Mark Hoppus’s cancer diagnosis and Travis Barker being propelled into reality TV fame via his marriage to Kourtney Kardashian. Will those changes be reflected in ‘One More Time’?

THE ROLLING STONES - ‘Hackney Diamonds’ [October 20th]

Yes, they’re back. Again. The Rolling Stones roll out their 24th studio album (in the UK), with a starry supporting cast featuring everyone from Paul McCartney to Lady Gaga, Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Well, they are the Rolling Stones, after all. Early reports suggest that this record  - their first since drummer Charlie Watt passed away - is their best in many years.
