Karl Mac is an electronic dance music DJ and producer from Dublin.

A stalwart of the Irish club scene, his recent debut release with Jodie G, ‘Wish I Didn’t Miss You’, went straight to the top of the Irish iTunes charts, and he plays The Button Factory on July 29th.

We caught up with him to learn more.

1. What’s the music that you listened to growing up, that you still listen to today?
It would have to be trance music. I grew up going to all the top trance festivals and club nights around Ireland and Europe. To this day, it’s still number 1 in my heart.

2. In three words, describe the minute before you walk on stage.
Raring to go.

3. How do you wind down after a gig?
I drive home with all the windows down listening to Q102’s The Love Zone, with the breeze blowing in my hair, haha!

4. What’s the one song (by another artist) you wish you’d written or recorded first?
N-Trance – Set You Free (Rob Searl Remix). Absolute anthem.

5. Name one record, one book, and one film that everyone should hear / read / see.
