There's just a few short months until Eurovision 2020 takes place in Rotterdam (well, providing the Coronavirus doesn't scupper it), and Ireland's entry has just been revealed.
As was the case for the last few years, the public had no say in the selection of the entry. In 2020, Lesley Roy will represent us with the song 'Story of My Life' (hopefully) in the final on May 16th. She'll first compete in Semi-Final 1 on May 12th.
The 33-year-old is from Balbriggan in Dublin and released her debut (and only, to date) album 'Unbeautiful' in 2008. Since then, she has worked primarily as a songwriter for other artists, including co-writing songs for the likes of Adam Lambert.
The song itself is a zippy electropop tune with a big Katy Perry vibe, and it sounds tailor-made for Eurovision success, if you ask us.
