Two of the biggest stars to have come through the hip-hop ranks in recent times have collaborated on a new track - a fact which should be enough to generate headlines on its own merit.
However, the video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's new song 'WAP' is already causing controversy.
The video debuted on Friday and has already been watched more than 57 million times in the past four days - but it seems that a large portion of those viewers are not happy about a certain star that makes a cameo in it.
Around the 1:40 mark, a leopard-print-clad figure is revealed to be Kylie Jenner, and critics of the video have been vocal about including one of the Kardashian clan considering their track record on appropriating black culture (for example, Kylie had previously worn cornrows and was once accused of wearing 'blackface' makeup, which she denied.)
Cardi B defended Jenner's inclusion amidst the backlash in a subtle manner, thanking all the woman who starred in the video and noting the importance of including women of different races and backgrounds:
I wanna say thank you to every woman that was apart of my video! The fact that you made time in your schedules means alot to me! It was so important to me to include different women,that are different races and come from different backgrounds but are so powerful and influential.

As well as Jenner's cameo, the use of several big cats in the video has drawn ire from one Carole Baskin of 'Tiger King' fame, who denounced the video in a statement to Billboard. "The worst part is that it glamorizes the idea of rich people having tigers as pets," she said. "That makes every ignorant follower want to imitate by doing the same. After tigers are too old for pay to play sessions by people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue and others, they become a liability instead of an asset."
