Beyoncé has new music on the way and fans couldn't be more excited. She's very close to dropping a new album, five years after her last one.

Beyoncé spoke about what we can expect in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.

The 'Hold Up' singer said: "With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again.

"I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.

"I've been in the studio for a year and a half."

The musician said it typically takes her about a year "to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare."

She is renowned for her incredible compositions arising from experimenting with music.

The singer noted that "One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies."

Beyoncé added: "There’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio.

"After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old."

She concluded: "Yes, the music is coming!"

Beyoncé has sold 118 million records worldwide.

She has released six studio albums, five live albums, three compilation albums, and five EPs in total.

2016's 'Lemonade' marked the singer's last full-length studio album of solo material.

Last year, she released the musical film and visual album 'Black Is King' to major acclaim.
