It's been a long time coming, but the pop sensation and master of the slow, cry yourself to sleep bop, is making her comeback.
Covering November's issue of Vogue, 33-year-old Adele discussed everything from her music, to her divorce, that Grammy moment, and how drunk she was while recording her second album, '21'.
Earlier this week, she released a teaser video for her forthcoming new single, 'Easy On Me', which will be released on October 15.
Going over her music to date in her interview with Vogue, Adele admitted that while recording '21', for which she won two Grammy Awards for, amongst several other accolades, she admits: "I was drunk as a fart on '21'; I really don’t remember much, I just remember being really sad.
"On '25', I was obviously sober as anything, because I was a new mum. That one, I was sort of more in tune with what I thought people might want or not want.
"With this one [her forthcoming release], I made the very conscious decision to be like, for the first time in my life, actually, 'What do I want?'"
Just don't expect any collaborations on her forthcoming album release, which is currently untitled and without a solid release date. Touching on the idea of someone like her idol Beyonce appearing on the record, Adele said: "It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s not calculated. It’s just never been right for some reason."
Speaking of Beyonce, the Tottenham singer brought up the 2017 Grammy Awards, when she won Album Of The Year over Beyonce's 'Lemonade'. According to the star, Queen B should have won. She admits: "My personal opinion is that Beyoncé definitely should have won.
"I just got this feeling: 'I f*cking won it'. I got overwhelmed, with, like, 'I will have to go and tell her how much her record means to me'. I’m getting a bit emotional."
She then went to Beyonce's dressing room, and it took two attempts for her to speak with her openly. She continued: "I just said to her, like, the way that the Grammys works, and the people who control it at the very, very top—they don’t know what a visual album is. They don’t want to support the way that she’s moving things forward with her releases and the things that she’s talking about."
On the Grammy Award currently sitting in her living room, she said the real one that was sent to her in the mail arrived broken already, but she fixed it with a handy piece of fruit: "It got broken when it was getting sent to me. There’s a lemon in it."
