A departure of sorts for kitchen-sink maestro Mike Leigh, Topsy Turvy is a based-on-a-true story of a study of operetta collaborators Gilbert [Broadbent] and Sullivan [Corduner] during the year leading up to the production of The Mikado. Broadbent carries the show as Leigh takes us behind the scenes for a tongue-in-cheek, affectionate poke at the foibles of actors and their ilk. Marvellous stuff.
