The first picture of the new Christopher Smith film, 'Get Santa', has been released.

This new festive flic has Santa, played by Broadbent, in a bit of a pickle after crash landing his sleigh in London. He seeks the help of 9 year old Tom (Kit Connor) after his reindeer end up being taken into a Dogs home. The film follows Tom as he tries to convince his father (Rafe Spall) to help Santa, but his father is unwilling after being newly released from prison. After Santa's failed attempt to free his reindeer, an incident that leaves him arrested and jailed, it is left to Tom and his father to hatch a plan to save both Santa and Christmas. No pressure or anything, Tom.

Among Broadbent, we can expect to see performances from other familiar faces, namely, Warwick Davis, Jodie Whittaker and Ewen Bremner.

The film, produced by Liza Marshall for Ridley Scott’s Scott Free London, sees Scott himself come in as Executive Producer and will be distributed by Warner Bros in the UK. One can expect to see 'Get Santa' some time close to Christmas this year, no doubt.

While it's far to early to start getting excited about Christmas but we think that Mr. Broadbent is going to make a lovely Santy. What do you think? Take a look at our round up of the best on screen Santas to help you decide.
