There will be a fifth Die Hard film. Reports are saying the movie is being fast-tracked for a release next year, with Irish director John Moore calling the shots.

The report of Moore helming has since been contradicted by other outlets, who are saying that there are other names being considered. Surprisingly those names include Joe Cornish - the British director of the recent, Attack the Block. Also included were Justin Lin - hot off Fast 5 - and Nicolas Winding Refn, who is garnering brilliant buzz for his Ryan Gosling action flick, Drive.

Dundalk man Moore is still the most likely candidate. He's done all of his movies so far (Max Payne, The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines) for Fox and is considered as reliable as they come. Meaning he's a steady hand, knows action and will bring the film in on budget. Some of the action stuff in 'Lines' was a lot of fun, as was the plane crash in Flight of the Phoenix, but Max Payne was a missed opportunity. I thought Len Wiseman did a proficient job on the last film - where Willis apparently interfered a lot - so it might not be a wise move for a young director like Cornish. Refn is busy being the next Scorsese/De Niro with Gosling, while Lin has Fast 6 and Terminator 5 to worry about.
