If there's one X-Man we love reading about then it's got to be Wolverine. It's got absolutely nothing to do with that oh so handsome Aussie actor, we swear.

It's been 3 years since X-Men Origins: Wolverine and, despite that comedic cameo in Bryan Singer's First Class, we can't help but feel we've been waiting far too long to see Logan back on our screens. So obviously we're rather excited now that 20th Century Fox has released an official synopsis for The Wolverine. Following on from the events of Origins and The X-Men Trilogy, this film will show us his vulnerable side, pushing our favourite clawed friend to his physical and emotional limits.

"Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern-day Japan," the synopsis reads. "Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before."

Oooh, sounds angsty. The Wolverine in is in cinemas from July 2013.
