The big one unfolding across the pond this week is stoner comedy/action flick Pineapple Express, which is receiving stellar notices from the critics: The New York Post called it "Frequently hilarious, occasionally sweet and often graphically violent". Time Magazine agreed saying it is "A comedy that brings a nicely deflating note of realism to action-film mayhem, as well as being one of the few drug movies you don't have to be high to enjoy." The film opens here on September 12th, and Seth Rogen and James Franco will be in Dublin for the premiere. Also opening is the teeny sequel starring Ugly Betty herself, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2 which has also garnered solid reviews. The New York Times seemed to sum up the critical consensus when they said it was "The movie equivalent of being patted on the shoulder by an encouraging high school guidance counsellor and assured that you are doing just fine." What’s Pineapple Express then? One of your mates off his bin, telling you he loves you!?
