Despite the realative financial failure of Scream 4 at the box-office, rumours of a fifth film won't go away, and franchise helmer Wes Craven has addressed them.
The legendary director told Moviehole, "The odds are that there will be (a Scream 5). It is something that Bob Weinstein wants to do. He tends to do what he wants to do," he then added,"So I am inclined to think that there will be (another sequel). Whether I will be a part of it or not? I don't know. My contract gives me the first look. If they show me something that is really wonderful? Of course I will be a part of it."
The last film had some many smart and cool moments but was ultimately ruined by a shite ending, horrible casting (Emma Roberts is NOT a leading lady) and interference from The Weinstein Brothers. That said, Hayden Panettiere surprised the hell out of me - she was great. If Craven does it, then let him do it right. The first two flicks are genre classics in my opinion.
