The first trailer has landed for gritty indie thriller The Frozen Ground starring Vanessa Hudgens and Nicholas Cage. Based on true events, the film follows Detective Jack Halcombe (Cage) as he sets out to catch serial killer Robert Hansen (John Cusack) who abducts and murders prostitutes but has managed to go unnoticed for 13 years. Enter Hudgens who plays a prostitute, a far cry from her High School Musical Days, who has managed to escape the killer and holds the key information that can bring down Hansen.

The movie was shot back in 2011 but has not managed to secure a release until now so whether or not it's any good remains to be seen. Supporting Cage and Hudgens in supporting roles are 50 Cent (oh dear) Breaking Bad's Dean Norris and Radha Mitchell. The Frozen Ground is set for release on the 19th of July.
