Admittedly, the first time we heard about Before I Go To Sleep, we immediately thought "Isn't that basically Christopher Nolan's Memento?" A psychologically-damaged woman, who suffers from amnesia, is attempting to piece together what happened to her with the help of her husband, played by Colin Firth, and a doctor, played by Mark Strong.

The trailer does give a fairly decent amount of plot information and we have it on good authority that the novel on which its based was pretty great. So, initial thoughts? Well, Nicole Kidman's been having a bit of a career slump. We don't need to remind everyone of Grace of Monaco. Likewise, Colin Firth didn't exactly win audiences over with The Devil's Knot. That being said, we're quite optimistic about Kingsman: The Secret Service, which also stars Mark Strong.

This looks like it has potential, but the first reaction - comparing it to Memento - is definitely going to work against it. Memento was Nolan's calling card and a pretty great film on its own right, anyway. We'll have to wait and see with this one.
