Jessica Chastain is throwing her hat in the Oscar race ring in the first trailer for Molly's Game. She plays Molly Bloom, an Olympic level skier turned poker magnate, who ran one of the most exclusive poker games in the world. Her high stakes clients included actors, business and mobsters which lead her into trouble with the law. Idris Elba co-stars as her lawyer.
The film is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the man behind The West Wing, The Social Network and Moneyball. His last film, Steve Jobs, got a mixed response so hopefully this will be a return to form.
It will be released in the US on November 22nd and sometime after that in Ireland.
