Tomb Raider's one of those film franchises that, quite honestly, could never exist outside of the heady days of 2001 when Angelina Jolie was willing and able to spout ropey, clunky dialogue.

Flash-forward to 2018 and we're now looking at Alicia Vikander doing the same, with similarly poor CGI and even more clunky, ropey-sounding dialogue. Vikander's take on the character is inspired by the game's own reboot, which saw it shift to a more realistic, survival-driven story than the freeroaming, cave-jumping, exploration game we all played back on our older brother's PlayStation 1.

Directed by Norwegian director Roar Uthaugh and starring Walton Goggins as the baddie, Dominic West as Lara Croft's dad and Kristin Scott-Thomas in there for some reason, this looks... not great. Not great at all, to be honest.

Judge for yourself. Tomb Raider lands in Irish cinemas on March 16th.
