The Oscar race is starting now, folks. Time to get your bets in early because the 2016 race is shaking out quite nicely.

First to throw down is Joy. Jennifer Lawrence stars as Joy Mangano, a real-life inventor and entrepreneuer who created the Miracle Mop. You know those mops that squeeze out when you pull the thing on the handle? That's them.

Anyway, David O. Russell - who wrote / directed American Hustle, The Fighter, Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees (awful film, btw) and plenty more besides - is taking another charge at the Oscars with this piece.

As well as reteaming with Jennifer Lawrence, he's also drafted back Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro and brought in the likes of Isabella Rosellini, Edgar Ramirez and Law & Order's Elisabeth Rohm.

So, what's the film about? Essentially, it's about how she went from being a mild-mannered young lady to a titan of industry thanks to home-shopping and making mops.

Take a look at the trailer.

At the very least, it's not that slowed-down version of a famous song thing we're seeing every trailer use.

We're also liking the fact that O. Russell is consistently working with the same people over and over again. If you've got a good thing going, why ruin it?

Plus, we like the idea of Jennifer Lawrence leading her own film. Could she be up for another Oscar?

We'll have to wait until December / January to find out.
