Prepare for a very odd looking Channing Tatum as well as a high-flying ass (hopefully) turn from Mila Kunis in the first official teaser trailer for the Wachowski's latest sci-fi romp Jupiter Ascending.
Basically looking like a combination of The Matrix with the spacier elements of Cloud Atlas, the film sets up Kunis as the eponymous Jupiter, a janitor on Earth whose DNA possesses the secret to the future of the universe with Tatum, a genetically engineered alien super solider, charged with keeping her safe and making sure she fulfills her destiny.
The latest from the Wachowskis features plenty of old Wachowski reliables, including skin-tight leather outfits, crazy CGI battle scenes and a lot of action, with Kunis falling into a bit of damsel in distress role by the looks of this first trailer. Hopefully that's all just a smoke screen for her coming around to becoming the Neo of the universe, which it seems to look like she will.
The film, written and directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski, also features Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and apparently a "small but vital" role from Monty Python's Terry Gilliam.
Expect Jupiter Ascending in your local cinema in the summer of 2014. We have a feeling it's going to be one of the big ones.
