In a new featurette for the upcoming movie Epic, Beyonce reveals the reasoning behind her decision to take the role of Queen Tara. Beyonce revealed she was very excited to join the cast once she heard about her character. 'I've always wanted to be a queen. Once I learned about my character, Queen Tara, I just had to be a part of it'.
The upcoming movie will see Beyonce voice the character of Queen Tara, the mother nature like Queen ruler of the magical forest. The film follows Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) who gets lost in the forest and finds herself in a battle between good and evil.
Beyonce added that 'The film is about how everything in our life connects. Everything in this movie is big - the characters, the action. This is one time where the film really lives up to its title'.
Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Jason Sudeikis, Pitbull, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari and Chris O'Dowd are also part of the star studded cast. Epic is released on the 24th May 2013.
