One of the most consistent movie stars on the planet, Denzel Washington is always watchable; even when he's working with Tony Scott at his most nonsensical. He also likes a bit of a villain every now and then, and may very well be playing one in the thriller, Safe House.
According to Variety, the flick comes from original screenplay from David Guggenheim, who is an editor with the gossip mag Us Weekly. Flick would see Washington play a dangerous criminal, who is under police protection at a safe house. When the safe house is attacked, Washington's wrong sort and a young intelligence agent must go on the run. It's apparently a cross between Collateral and Three Days of the Condor; which sounds pretty great.
No director is attached yet, so pray Tony Scott doesn't get his hands on it and turn it into a 90 minute music video. He's made some cracking films, but his last good one - Man on Fire - was a few years ago now.
