I had the rare pleasure of indulging one of my teenage dreams last Friday. I met James Franco. Now most of you probably first became familiar with Franco after the first Spiderman movie; I, however, fell in love with him whilst he portrayed a high school dufus in Whatever It Takes opposite Shane West. (On a side note, whatever happened to him? Seemed to have dropped off the face of the Earth after playing resident rogue Ray in E.R)

Another hero of mine who I met along with Franco, was Zach Braff, otherwise known as JD from Scrubs. Braff is also the writer and director of one of my favourite movies, Garden State. All in all, he's a ledge. And a nice guy too.

I sat down with the two boys to discuss their current film, Oz The Great and Powerful. Franco stars as Oz whilst Braff stars as his furry sidekick, Finley. We chatted about what it's like to portray a flying monkey, how daunting a task it was to take on a character that's as old an iconic as Oz and, randomly, about their respective prom dates. Franco also agreed to come to Dublin for a magic show wherein he'd saw me in half. Needless to say, I promptly volunteered myself.

Oz the Great and Powerful hits Irish cinemas on March 8th. Don't miss it.
