Two Irish movies are to have their world premieres at Robert De Niro's New York based Tribecca Festival.

Babygirl is centres on a girl from the Bronx who attempts to out her mother's new boyfriend as a bit of a scumbag, but sees her plan backfire. The other flick, Death of a Superhero, directed by Ian Fitzgibbon and based on the Anthony McCarten book of the same name, centres on a terminally ill teenage boy who retreats into a world of comic books.

Both films will screen in the Viewpoints part of the festival, which runs from April 18th to 29th
