British actor Tim Roth will play FIFA president Sepp Blatter in a new film provisionally titled F2014. The film is scheduled to be released sometime next year which will of course coincide with the 2014 world cup being held in Brazil.
Roth will be accompanied by Frenchman Gerard Depardieu who will take on the role of former FIFA president and fellow Frenchman Jules Rimet.
The film is due to be shot in Azerbaijan, France and Brazil and will be based around the governing body's 110 year history.
Roth is 25 years young than the 77 year old Blatter so it looks like the movie might focus on the earlier years of Blatter's presidency.
According to Digitalspy, the two met up to discuss the role with Blatter commenting "I was very eager to meet him, and I have just realised that really we have something in common. We have some common, let's say, qualities."
As far as we can remember, this is the first movie to focus solely on a sporting body so it will be interesting to see the finished product sometime in 2014.
