Charlize Theron, and Oscar nominee for Up In The Air, Vera Farmiga are apparently up for roles in The Dark Knight Rises.
According to comicbookmovie.com, the third instalment of the Chris Nolan helmed trilogy is gearing up towards production in March, and Theron has been approached to play a Detective Named Sarah Essen- a possible love interest for Gary Oldman's character, Jim Gordon. Farmiga has apparently auditioned as a love interest for Bruce Wayne, who then later becomes involved with the villain Clayface in the comics - a part being mooted by outlets as Tom Hardy's role.
At the moment, all of this is speculation, but the source is quoting someone within an agency who claims knowledge of the auditions. Farmiga's involvement does seem a little random to be made up, but Theron is the size of star who will be linked to projects of this size every once and a while regardless.
