Yes, another Shaft movie is in the works, following on from John Singleton's 2002 reboot starring Samuel L. Jackson and a pre-pubescent Christian Bale as a psychopathic rich kid.

Because he's never played one of those before. Cough.

There's no director lined up yet, simply that New Line / MGM are putting together a new version of the 1971 cult classic that starred Richard Roundtree.

Trivia time! Isaac Hayes won Best Original Song at the Oscars that year for 'Theme From Shaft'.
