There will not, we repeat, NOT, be an Anchorman 3, according to the man who co-wrote and directed the first two flicks, Adam McKay.

He told Empire Magazine, "It's done. I think that's it. It was great to do it and it was so fun to work with those guys again, but I think that's it for Ron Burgundy." When asked about Step Brothers, which frankly we’re more upset set about, he added “No, that's (Anchorman 2) the last sequel we're gonna do. There's nothing more fun to me than new characters and a new world. And now we're releasing this alt version, we're totally satisfied. No Anchorman 3."

There is an "alt" version of Anchorman 2 with all new jokes being released in cinemas today - for one week only - hence the yap with McKay.

Anchorman 2 did a strong domestic gross of $125 million, but added less than $50 million worldwide, despite the cast going all out to promote it - including coming to Ireland. The legends.
